MoneyDue support
Write to us — about a problem, with a question, or with a suggestion. We read everything.
How to write
Two ways, both equally good.
If you came from the app with the "Report a problem" button, the email is already filled in with technical data: app version, system version, language, the number of debts and the error message. You see it before sending and can delete any part.
A screenshot helps us get to the bottom of it faster. But before you send one, look at what it shows: there may be names and amounts on it, other people's included. Anything extra can be blurred or cropped — the part of the screen where the problem itself is visible is enough for us.
Frequently asked questions
I changed my phone and all the debts are gone. Can they be restored?
Unfortunately not. MoneyDue keeps records on the device and encrypts them with a key that stays in the phone's secure storage. The key is tied to the device and does not move to a new one, and without it the database cannot be read — by us either.
We are planning an export of the database to a file; with it, moving to a new phone becomes possible. When it arrives, there will be an entry about it on the updates page.
Why is the exchange rate different from the one at my bank?
Rates come from Frankfurter, which collects them from central banks, and they show the market value. A bank adds its own margin, so the numbers differ. For a payment the rate is always entered by hand — that way the history keeps the rate at which you actually exchanged, not the market average.
The app asks for biometrics (Face ID, Touch ID or a fingerprint). Does it see my biometric data?
No. The check is performed by the operating system, and MoneyDue receives only a yes or a no. A fingerprint or a face scan is not available to any app.
Does the other person need to install the app?
No. MoneyDue keeps track from one phone: you record the debt and send the reminder yourself as an ordinary message — by messenger, email or SMS. The person who owes does not need to install anything.
Why didn't a reminder arrive?
Reminders come only for unpaid debts with a due date: the day before the due date, on the due date and the day after, at the time chosen in the app's settings. If a reminder did not arrive, check that the debt has a due date, that reminders are turned on in the app's settings, and that notifications for MoneyDue are allowed in your phone's settings. One more thing: the app schedules reminders about two months ahead from the day you last opened it, so it will remind you of a distant due date if you open it within that time.
How do I delete all my data?
Delete the app: the database with all your records is deleted from the phone along with it. We have no copies, so there is nothing else to delete. If you wrote to support and want the correspondence deleted before the end of the retention period, write to support@moneydueapp.com.
